does anyone know how to make win amp skins and would be willing to make one for me? or if anyone knows someone who does and takes requests that would be cool too.

i have a really cool pic from this manga air gear, that i got from manga downloads (i think that was it) anyways..it would be a cool skin but i dont know how to make em. the only sites i have skins from are all down. if ur willing or know the person who is willing....then ill take care of asking permission to use the pic. im sure they wont mind though cuz they let ppl do that sort of thing as long as they credit for the scan.

here's a site where you can download a program to make skins, but you have to register to have a "full" skin (of course you can find around the net user name to sort-of-hack-it so you can makes skin for free) and there is supposed to be several little program to skins like these but they aren't that good generaly... otherwise to completly make one takes a LOT of time, and some tips to halp at first. I have this site but it's in french, only the pics could always help in last ressource.

Aside from that, a really cool pic that's the wrong shape or has important bits in the wrong places is just going to make an ugly skin no matter what, because there are certain parts of the Winamp 2.x layout that you can't work around -- plus the more detailed it is, the worse it'll look as a skin, because it's almost guaranteed to have to rescale to fit into a skin shape.

Can you post a link to it or something? I do skins, and I could probably give you an idea of whether it's skinnable or not...

ok heres a diff pic from the one i had originally thought of..cuz looking back on it, it wouldnt have looked right as a skin it had too much writing on it. but heres a cool pic too. i hope it shows up here, cuz i never link em correctly.


i think this would work cuz its long and has space around it that can be cut down...what do you think. oh and the skin i want i would want it to include the main player thing, equalizer and play list.

edit: ok the pic on my screen is at actual size. is that ok to post such a big pic? if not ill take it down or try to resize it.

well, im bad at making em, but i've made a couple that im not proud of, alot of poeple like to make them with Photoshop, and thats how i make them, but i've never tried skin makers. maybe i should! O_O *hits self on head*

Jadey, looking at the html for the picture that doesn't show up... it looks like you might have linked it from your hard drive perhaps?

grrr....imm so sorry. i never link these things properly. it shows up fine on mine but its prolly another one of those things where only i can see it cuz its mine.

risu...do you think i could just email it too you and then u could tell me if its good or not. i know for sure that i can send an attachment fine.

or if someone knows a free and easy place to host stuff. ive tried yahoo briefcase but the links never work when i try them here.

You can try -- it seems to be a constant race between spammers and the space limit on my Hotmail box, but there's a chance it could get through if it's like less than 200 K. ^_^;;
